A product of New Orleans' culturally rich and historic Treme neighborhood, Troy ‘Trombone Shorty’ Andrews was leading a band at the age of six. Now in his mid-20s, he’s one of the greatest performers out there, juggling trumpet and trombone at the head of his own high-energy funk band, Orleans Avenue. Grammy-nominated debut LP ‘Backatown’ pioneered the sound they call "Supafunkrock”, a blend of old-school New Orleans jazz, funk and soul, hard-rock power chords and hip-hop beats. After a sold out Jazz Café show in September, they are back to The Garage to promote their album ‘For True’, still pushing the envelope, exploring new musical territory.
