Hardy Bucks is the Irish comedy act who the Irish Times describes as ‘The best comedy act to come of Ireland since Fr Ted.’

Launched originally online with a series of cult  webisodes, the Hardy Bucks have amassed a phenomenal  world-wide following – with over 6 million views on Youtube and over 125,000 fans on Facebook.

Likened to the Trailer Park Boys and the Young Ones, the Hardy Bucks is based on the mis-adventures of 4 disaffected lads (the Hardy Bucks) from the fictitious ‘Castletown’ in the backwaters of Co Mayo, Ireland.  Scheming, drinking, work-shy, procrastinators the Hardy Bucks are daft lads from the country – the epi-centre of their universe – tormented by their nemesis and small town hash dealer, Viper Higgins.

The show has become a global hit with fans as far as Cambodia and New Zealand quoting the Hardy Bucks coined phrases! The Hardy Bucks  are gaining recognition from some of the industry heavy weights, with interest from Fox Entertainment LA who are looking at the format for the US and it seems Hardy Bucks has hit the celeb radar – they have a legion of celebrity fans from Natasha Hamilton to Noel Gallagher.

Written by Martin Maloney (Eddie Durkan), Chris Tordoff (Viper) and Mike Cockayne, Hardy Bucks was commissioned by RTE after it won the www.storyland.ie competition.  Their 1st series received record viewing figures for a new show on RTE 2 – as a result they were re-commissioned for the Christmas Special .  Since then Hardy Bucks has aired its 2nd series which they have just received an IFTA Nomination for ‘Best Entertainment Show’.  This is a huge accolade for them and great recognition for the show.

The hour long live show is packed with piss talk from the five main characters, guitar offs, bragging, cult quotes and anecdotes from the TV show and a few random impersonations thrown in for good measure. Just what you’d expect from a Hardy Bucks maelstrom.
