HMV Live & MAMA Festivals present NEXT BIG THING featuring Jersey Budd, Davy Knowles and Cosmo Jarvis.
Genuine optimism is hard to come by these days, but Jersey Budd is one man that’s determined to put a bit of positivity back into pop. Standing on the shoulders of such giants as Dylan, Springsteen and Cat Stevens, this 24 year-old singer, songwriter and guitarist offers a genuine alternative to the current malaise, blowing away the cobwebs with a lethal combination of talent, charm and pure will. Gifted yet grounded, Jersey Budd is a working class hero in the making, matching Lennon’s looks with The Boss’ penchant for the epic. We’re sure that his voice, songs and most importantly his lust for life, will make welcome additions to 2010’s musical landscape.
Debut album‘Wonderlands’ , is now available at HMV / iTunes.
"Everyman appeal and melodies prove that Budd has a weather eye cocked to stadium rock posterity" The Observer Music Monthly
"Quality song-writing that’s about to win Budd even more friends” NME
"Accomplished debut that frames Budd’s classically wasted rocks/blues vocal" , The Fly

Davy Knowles supports Jersey Budd. Fronting his band Back Door Slam, the 22-year-old British phenomenon with an intuitive feel for and encyclopedic knowledge of blues-rock draws on influences from Robert Johnson to Rory Gallagher, but injects his music with youthful originality along the way. In the process, he’s taken on the American blues-rock fraternity at their own game and scored a home run, climbing ever-nearer to the top of Billboard’s Top Blues Albums chart, reaching #2, kept off only by the soundtrack to Cadillac Records, and mixing in exalted company there, from Buddy Guy to Joe Bonamassa. Not bad for a kid from the Isle of Man.

Cosmo Jarvis is a new kind of artist, for whom one world will never be enough. He’s a songwriter and a singer, but he’s also a filmmaker, storyteller, poet, iconoclast, Jessica Alba enthusiast and campaigner for the equal treatment of gay pirates. He’s an ordinary teenager with extraordinary talents.
