Jay James Picton is a white boy with soul. Fan of artists as diverse as Bill Withers and New York rap titan Nas, Jay has been out in the US working on his upcoming debut LP ‘The Boy That Wants To Fly’ with James Poyser, Raymond Angry and Jef Lee Johnson of The Roots.
European duo Boy’s music is reminiscent of the art-school elegance of Phoenix or the lively melodics of Feist, but mostly inspired by everyday stories of real life. Their acclaimed debut gets a full release here March 2012. Jodie Marie is a preternaturally gifted singer-songwriter with a blues touch. Signed to Decca, she’s been working on her debut album ‘Mountain Echo’ with Bernard Butler and Ed Harcourt.
Jeb Loy Nichols’ new album ‘The Jeb Loy Nichols Special’, recorded with producer Benedic Lamdin and Nostalgia 77, is a blend of raw soul and country steeped in politics and the times we’re living in.
